(My first thoughts about purple have reference my favorite color during the 90's and a pop song- that I don't even like.) I really like your double cross and how simple it is. As a graphic designer I understand how challenging it can be to break down a design to it's most concise form. I hope you are very pleased with how wonderful your quilt turned out. It's wonderfully modern. I'm thinking that perhaps it is the nature of that color to be multi-modal, if such a concept exists, that is, both prominent and also invisible.
And so it is with your design, the two crosses, that can be a strong evocation of the ecclesiastical or more modern and areligious, depending on what it's by and the context (love that photo with the churches, your quilt and the stained glass). A very successful outing, Camilla! I totally appreciate the symbolism behind the quilt as well as appreciating the simplicity of the design itself.
I, too, seem to have been working in purple, even though I don't wear it, either. The contrast between your purple fabrics and the linen is just lovely and the quilting is perfect too. If you weren't so far away I would be very tempted to come and steal it!
