Hexagons and bees in Pale yellows, blues, creams, greys and white were requested, but hopefully the darker grey centre will sneak through!
I had a lot of fun with these. The paper pieced bee was courtesy of a free pattern from Amy at Badskirt
Also I want to let you know about the great blog hop going on over at Plum and June's, if you haven't already heard. There are a few blogs to visit each week until the end of July. A great way to find some new modern bloggy inspiration- not that there's any shortage of that, but it's always fun to discover someone else!

Such a sweet bee, perfect for these blocks. Love the texty background too. :)

ReplyDeleteLove your blocks - I need to try to make the bee one!
ReplyDeleteFantastic blocks! Your bee is perfect, love how you got it up to size. And it looks great with the hexie block :)
ReplyDeleteI love those blocks! I have not really tried paper piecing but it is on my list of things to try!
ReplyDeleteGreat hexies! I've been loving yellows blues and grays lately.
ReplyDeleteYour bee block is too fun. I love how you fussy cut the wings. The musical staff fabric is perfect for making a bee!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh. I've had those bees pinned to try to make soon, and yours is so cute! I am obsessed with using that white memoir print as a background fabric. I keep ordering it a yard at a time and next thing I know it's gone again. :)
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great! Perfect fabric choices
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks and I see you at the end of the blog hop!
ReplyDeleteThese hexies are lovely - gorgeous colours :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous blocks! love the bee! Thanks for linking up :)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous blocks, I love the bee! Looking forward to seeing you on the blog hop!
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful - I love that text fabric you've chosen for the background!
ReplyDeleteAnd ps - you get the Queen's Bday off in Australia? She's still ceremonially in charge of our "colony", and pictured on all of our multicoloured currency and we don't get the Queen's Bday off. However, we do get Victoria Day in May… Oh, the little differences! :-)
Great blocks, Camilla! Especially the Hexi. Glad to have 'met' you through the blog hop and looking forward to your post!
ReplyDeleteLorna:)

Very nice! Haven't attempted paper pieces as of yet.
ReplyDeleteOh i love those foundation pieced bees, they're fab! :o)
ReplyDeleteI love that you made a quilt for your granny. Kelsey and I are planning a gift quilt for my Great Aunt's 90th birthday sometime later this year. I love that bee block. I've been wanting to try some paper piecing but am always afraid to actually give it a go. Maybe I'll have to dig through some tutorials, grab some scraps and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the inspiration!
